2025 Election Year filing dates
The filing date to file for the April 8, 2025, General Municipal Election for the City of Iberia begins December 10, and the deadline is December 31, 2024, at the close of business. To file please come by Iberia City Hall at 803 Hwy. 42, Iberia, MO 65486. You will fill out form 5120 and forms sent by the Missouri Ethics Commission along with a Declaration of Candidacy form.
The positions open for election: Mayor, Alderman Ward 1 & Alderman Ward 11.
Qualifications for Alderman: No person shall be an Alderman unless he/she be at least eighteen (18) years of age, a citizen of the United States, and an inhabitant and resident of the City for one (1) year next preceding his/her election, and a resident, at the time he/she files and during the time he/she serves, of the ward from which he/she is elected.
Qualifications for Mayor: No person shall be a Mayor unless he/she be at least twenty-five (25) years of age, a citizen of the United States, and an inhabitant and resident of the City for one (1) year next preceding his/her election, and a resident, at the time he/she files and during the time he/she serves, of the ward from which he/she is elected. In addition, the person running for Mayor shall not be in arrears for unpaid city fees or taxes or have a felony record.
