RESOURCES RECEIVES
APPLICATION FOR SOLID WASTE PROCESSING FACILITY IN MILLER COUNTY
The Missouri Department of Natural Resources’ Waste Management Program has received an application from Overland Principal Group, LLC to construct the OWS Transfer Facility in Miller County.
The proposed processing facility will be operated as a solid waste transfer station; transferring municipal solid waste from collection vehicles to long haul carries for transport to permitted facilities. The facility will be open to the public and will process up to 500 tons/day.
The proposed site is located at 11 Highway V approximately 400 feet East of Highway 54 on the North side of Highway V in Eldon, Missouri. The general legal description of the site is NW 1⁄4, SW 1⁄4, of Section 8, Township 40 North, Range 15 West, Latitude 38 14’ 11.1” N, Longitude -92 37’ 5.9” West near the city of Eldon, Miller County, Missouri.
The Department of Natural Resources reviews all applications submitted by cities, counties, and private owners to ensure that solid waste processing facilities are properly designed and constructed. Other technical factors that protect Missouri’s environment are also examined.
A copy of the permit application package has been placed in the Eldon Public Library, 308 E 1st Street, Eldon, Missouri, for public review.
