Miller County Midway Road Pavement Repair

Sealed bids for Miller County Midway Road Pavement Repair, will be received at: 2001 Hwy. 52, Tuscumbia, MO 65082 until 11:00 a.m. on the 23rd day of September, 2024, at the office of the Miller County Commission, and at that time will be publicly opened and read. All bids shall be submitted in the form of a hard copy.

The proposed work includes:

Base Bid: The rehabilitation of approximately 12,000 SY of pavement along Midway Road in Miller County, MO including 442 SY of 10” concrete pavement and 11,616 SY of 2” milling followed by 5” asphalt pavement.

Bid Deduct Alternate: The removal of 3,872 SY (Area 203 on plans) of Bid Item 3 described as "5" Thick HMAP (Asphalt) Pavement (Includes 2" Mill).

The contractor shall be required to submit a bid for the “Bid Deduct Alternate.” The Owner will choose whether or not to include the Bid Deduct Alternate with the Project Total Base Bid for project total cost. Base bid and chosen Bid Deduct Alternate shall be awarded to a single bidder.

Bidding documents will be shipped only if the requesting party assumes responsibility for all related charges. Corporate, certified, or cashier’s checks shall be made payable to Drexel Technologies, Inc. All labor used in the construction of this public improvement shall be paid a wage no less than the prevailing hourly rate of wages of work of a similar character in this locality as established by the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations (State Wage Rates).

The Miller County Commission hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, religion, creed, sex, age, ancestry, or national origin in consideration for an award.

All bidders must be on MoDOT’s Qualified Contractor List per Section 102.2 of the Missouri Standard Specifications for Highway Construction, current Edition including all revisions. The contractor questionnaire must be on file 7 days prior to bid opening.

Contractors and sub-contractors who sign a contract to work on public works project provide a 10-Hour OSHA construction safety program, or similar program approved by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, to be completed by their on-site employees within sixty (60) days of beginning work on the construction project.

A certified or cashier’s check or a bid bond in the amount of 5% shall be submitted with each proposal.

The contract, if awarded, will be awarded to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder complying with the Conditions of the Contract Documents within the Owner’s budget. The Bidder to whom the awards are made will be notified at the earliest possible date. The Owner, however, reserves the right to reject any and all Bids and to waive any informality in Bids received whenever such rejection or waiver is in his interest.

No 2nd tier subcontracting will be allowed on this project.
