Miller County Soft Match Credit (SMC) Replacement Bridge

No. 2870005 Tavern Creek Road and Replacement/Rehabilitation of structures located on Brushy Creek Road, Faith Community Road, Sage Brush Lane and Watkins Ford Road

Sealed bids for Miller County SMC Replacement Bridge No. 2870005; Replacement/Rehabilitation of structures located on Brushy Creek Road, Faith Community Road, Sage Brush Lane and Watkins Ford Road, will be received at: 2001 HWY 52, Tuscumbia, MO 65082 until 11:00 a.m. on the 25th day of August, 2023, at the office of the Miller County Commission, and at that time will be publicly opened and read. All bids shall be submitted in the form of a hard copy.

The proposed work includes:

Base Bid - Bridge 2870005: The construction: 35’-0” long by 14’-2” wide, single span, Precast Box Girder bridge on Tavern Creek Road in Miller County, MO.

Bid Alternate – Brushy Creek Road: The construction of a concrete approach slab and rock blanket on Brushy Creek Road in Miller County, MO.

Bid Alternate – Faith Community Road: The construction of a 16’-0” long by 17’-0” wide, single span, Precast Box Girder bridge on Faith Community Road in Miller County, MO.

Bid Alternate – Sage Brush Road: The construction of a 16’-0” long by 17’-0” wide, single span, Precast Box Girder bridge on Sage Brush Road in Miller County, MO.

Bid Alternate – Watkins Ford Road: The construction of a 20’-0” long by 17’-0” wide, single span, Precast Box Girder bridge on Watkins Ford Road in Miller County, MO.

The contractor shall be required to submit a bid for the “Bid Alternates.” The Owner will choose whether or not to include the Bid Alternates with the Project Total Base Bid for project total cost. The Owner reserves the right to select any combination of the bid alternates which are in the best interest of the project. Base bid and chosen bid alternates shall be awarded to a single bidder.

Bidding documents will be shipped only if the requesting party assumes responsibility for all related charges. Corporate, certified, or cashier’s checks shall be made payable to Drexel Technologies, Inc.

All labor used in the construction of this public improvement shall be paid a wage no less than the prevailing hourly rate of wages of work of a similar character in this locality as established by the United States Department of Labor (Federal Wage Rates) and Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations (State Wage Rates), whichever is higher.

The Miller County Commission hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, religion, creed, sex, age, ancestry, or national origin in consideration for an award.

All bidders must be on MoDOT’s Qualified Contractor List per Section 102.2 of the Missouri Standard Specifications for Highway Construction, current Edition including all revisions. The contractor questionnaire must be on file 7 days prior to bid opening.

Contractors and sub-contractors who sign a contract to work on public works project provide a 10-Hour OSHA construction safety program, or similar program approved by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, to be completed by their on- site employees within sixty (60) days of beginning work on the construction project.

A certified or cashier’s check or a bid bond in the amount of 5% shall be submitted with each proposal.

The contract, if awarded, will be awarded to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder complying with the Conditions of the Contract Documents within the Owner’s budget. The Bidder to whom the awards are made will be notified at the earliest possible date. The Owner, however, reserves the right to reject any and all Bids and to waive any informality in Bids received whenever such rejection or waiver is in his interest.

The DBE Goal for this project is 0%.

No 2nd tier subcontracting will be allowed on this project.
