The Eldon golf Mustangs fired a 300 on day two to overcome an 11 stroke deficit to win the MSHSAA Class 3 golf championship May 19-20, at Twin Hills Golf Club in Joplin.
Eldon finished with a two-day score of 631, tying Dexter. But Jackson Bennett’s second day score of 79 secured the tie-breaker.
Individually, Eli Cummings finished second overall with. 2-under-par 141.
It is the third state championship for the Eldon golf program (1999, 2000).
