The city of Eldon remains under a Missouri Department of Natural Resources mandated boil water order, but has received a first set of clear test results from samples collected Thursday by DNR staff.
A second set of clear samples is required before the boil water order can be lifted.
At the request of DNR, the city was required to disinfect the water system through the injection of liquid chlorine. The chlorination process went smoothly and faster than anticipated.
Following the chlorination process, water samples were collected by DNR and tested by their labs, with all sample results coming back clear.
The city of Eldon will continue to work closely with DNR and will provide updates as information becomes available.
Residents will be notified immediately once DNR authorizes the lifting of the boil order.
