A quartet of area baseball teams earned berths in the MSHSAA semi-finals following wins in their respective quarter-final games Wednesday, May 28.
In class 1, the St. Elizabeth Hornets return to the Final Four after a one-year hiatus with a 2-1 win over Wellington-Napoleon in St. Elizabeth.
Also in Class 1, the Wheatland MUles defeated the Halfway Cardinals 12-2 to earn a trip to the Final Four
In Class 2, the Eugene Eagles continued their run with a 5-0 win over the Scotland County Tigers, to earn their first Final Four berth since 2002.
Also in Class 2, the Tipton Cardinals earned their second straight Final Four trip with a thrilling 10-9 win over Maysville in extra innings.
The Final Four matchups are set for Monday and Tuesday, June 2-3 in Ozark.
In Class 1, St. Elizabeth plays State semi-final nemesis Oran at 10 a.m.; Wheatland will play Faith Christian Academy at 1 p.m.
In Class 2, Chaffee plays Miller at 4 p.m., with Eugene and Tipton squaring off at 7 p.m.
Tuesday's trophy games are set for the same times: Class 1 losers play at 10, winners at 1; Class 2 losers play at 4 and winners at 7.
